Controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Left mouse — tap | Reaping Cut: a wide cut that gathers Biomass from living enemies |
| Left mouse — hold | Deep Reap: longer reach and more Biomass; cutting a mature rootway of your own Garden makes it Bloom |
| Right mouse — tap | On open ground, Sow a Root Node; on your node or rootway, Tend it to speed its growth |
| Right mouse — hold | At an enemy, Springroot Grasp; at your rootway, raise a Rootwall |
Biomass
Biomass is gathered from damage dealt to living enemies, and from reclaiming fallen creatures near a node or the wielder — once each. Loot is never touched. It slowly fades out of combat.
The Garden
Root Nodes and the rootways between them are real structures with finite health. Only enemies can damage them. Growth depends on supply, the ground, moisture (faster when Wet) and cold — strong cold makes it dormant, not dead. Frozen growth is brittle. A severed rootway cannot regrow for a while.
What the Garden does
The Garden grows, heals allies, repairs itself, restrains enemies and defends. Healing is a shared budget: more allies never means more healing, and enemies get none. A Garden grows through stages — Seeded, Rooted, Flourishing, Overgrown and Ancient.
Springroot
Springroots pull a target toward their anchor; several roots add together. They break if the line is blocked, burn on burning targets or ground, and turn brittle in cold. Taut thorns cut.
Losing control
If the wielder loses Thornmother, the Garden decays. A new wielder starts a new network.
Ownership
Mythics are unique item instances. More than one copy can exist; they are not soulbound and can be traded.
