Game system In development NPC behaviour

Perception

Creatures and NPCs act only on what they can see, hear or legitimately know — never on hidden information.

The rule

Creatures and NPCs act only on what they perceive or legitimately know.

  • They have fields of view that differ by species, with peripheral vision — not an all-seeing radius.
  • They need line of sight.
  • They hear fighting, shouts and disturbances nearby.
  • They never read your hidden health, your level, item identities or Mythic internals.

That is why visible signs matter: bleeding, wound shock, a stagger, or facing away all tell a watching predator something real.

Acting through the same systems

Creatures and NPCs attempt everything through the same physical systems players use — the same attacks, projectiles, structures and statuses.
