Overview
An opportunist weighs up its target from what it can see, and its confidence rises and falls with every exchange.
- Low confidence: it tests from a distance.
- Growing confidence: it darts in, bites, darts out and reassesses.
- High confidence: it presses the attack.
- Collapsed confidence: it flees.
What builds its confidence: a target that is visibly hurt (bleeding or in wound shock), already fighting something else, staggered, or facing away; allies nearby; bites that go unpunished.
What breaks it: an ally dying, taking a heavy stagger, being wounded.
Its own low health alone does not make it flee. It judges by what it can see, never by hidden numbers.
